Mamma Mia!

If I could share the joy that I got from watching Mamma Mia! The Movie with the less happy around me, I may very likely be too selfish to share, because it's just so special to me.I would rather keep this insanely huge amount of happiness and spread it over my sometimes unhappy and disgrunted life.
Yes, Pierce Brosnan is in there, obviously it wins me over instantly.
However this movie gave much more than just superb 1st-class, drool-worthy eye-candy, it's just so special I don't know how to explain.

Meryl Streep is magnificent, what I wouldn't give to have just a little of her in me, the energy, the attitude, the emotions. If I live to 58, what would I become? I know I can;t even be close to Meryl Streep, and she makes me feel, very rarely, that there are terrific actors/actresses in real life who can change and affect a person's mood and even life, just by putting in effort and sincerity in their job. She lights up the screen and even in such a light-hearted film, can touch me so much in Slipping Through My Fingers and The Winner Takes It All, that I can't stop tearing.
Christine Baranski is wonderful too! I loved her in Does Your Mother Know and she really can sing quite well. The trio of Donna and the Dynamos had this perfect girl-friends relationship I wish I can have, and they are very, very entertaining.
So energetic, so alive.

Pierce Brosnan, if you listen over and over like me, you may find his voice to be actually quite okay. I am shamelessly biased when it comes to Pierce Brosnan, and I love him to bits, and I think he is very close to the Perfect Man Alive, and so anyone who don't like him/prefers Daniel Craig, please don't tell me in order to keep our relationship intact.

Critics have been talking about how him and Meryl can't sing to save their lives blah blah blah...but at the end of the day they are great actors and actresses, not singers. They brought life to this movie and to me, they did the song numbers quite well. If you watch this movie just to listen to the songs and check the pitch...just get an ABBA album. Imagine my disappointment when I saw in FiRST movie mag that Mamma Mia! only got 2 star and a mini review, it makes me feel that the reviewer didn't even really sat down and watched this film at all.

Even now, days after I've watched the movie, I feel a surge of happiness when I hear the songs from the movie in my mp3. It's very similar to the feeling whenever I hear Hairspray and Juno songs, music is a very magical thing, and somehow Mamma Mia! is just that bit more magical and special. Somehow it chases away whatever negative feeling I have into a deep corner of my heart and I forget everything momentarily.

Insanely, this movie made me wish I was young and sweet and seventeen, that I can actually dance and sing and enjoy being alive.

Though you aren't seventeen, but you ARE young and sweet! :D I know cheese is supposed to be savoury, but THIS cheese is sweet!

I prefer Pierce Brosnan too. I think I'll catch it here; it really does sound quite good!
