Batman: The Dark Knight was GOOD.
For someone who's been a fan of Batman since young, and know quite a bit about the Joker and Two-Face aka Harvey Dent, I gotta say it's a dream-come-true casting and terrific acting.
Somehow I felt a little sad while watching because Heath Ledger is no longer around, immortalising Joker, meaning there will not be another Joker in the next sequel or future Batmans because he is a tough one to beat.
Then again, actually I feel more for the Harvey Dent character, the whole thing about him is just plain unfortunate, a 50-50 chance to fall from grace.
Joker is obviously stealing the limelight here, enough have been said about how good Heath Ledger is, and I wholeheartedly agree. Not Oscar material perhaps, but definitely a whole new Joker with more depth. Closer to the Joker in Arkham Asylum than the original, less dark Batman comic.
Someone with no rules, no conscience and no reason is insanely dangerous and fun at the same time.
Movies like this are fun to watch, and great to think about.
On another note, I hope Catwoman comes on next because I have wondered who can beat Michelle Pfeiffer, and director Christopher Nolan hasn't disappoint so far.

And the next movie I watched at night, right after Dark Knight, was the Mummy 3.
It was fun to watch, and terrible if you think back.
Right from the start, when the name zee yueen was spoken, I start to cringe.
I've been questioning the logic behind the story non stop even though I told myself not to. I have to remind myself again and again it's just a fictional story and whether its logical or not does not matter...but I didnt manage to convince myself.
Michelle Yeoh has aged...still beautiful nonetheless, but definitely aged quite a bit. I still love you Michelle, but you really really shouldn't speak mandarin. Nor should Anthony Wong. Nor should the guy who plays Michelle's love interest. Nor should everyone. Even Jet Li because he speaks in 文言文 and it's WEIRD.
How humiliating it is for someone like me, sufficiently proficient in chinese, to turn to subtitles for help whenever they start to dialogue in chinese?
Most of the comic relief actually came from the chinese lines, or the brother who's obviously the joker here. And too many kissing scenes. And too many irrelevant characters. And too many loopholes. And the list goes on.
Then again I'm not saying its BAD, per se. Its fine...just disappointing.
Somehow I think the reason behind how I survived watching this film is actually wholely credited to the lame and funny dialogues which seems funny for the wrong reasons, and of course because of Michelle Yeoh, because take away all these, it will become a really bad show.
More of Michelle Yeoh and Jet Li, in english for the former, please.
Then again, why so serious? I didn't go for movies for it to inspire me or change my sad life. I watched to escape anyway, and this is SO FAR FROM MY LOGICAL UNIVERSE.
