The Art in Comics

I don't know if people notice the art work behind comics like I do.

I bet most comic books lovers read it because of the storyline, characters and so on, and hence the artwork of the artist is often neglected.

I had been reading 朱德庸 's latest and last 涩女郎 book - 甜心涩女郎, and I can't help but be amazed by the fantastic pictures and fabulous colours that he used.

Unlike Neil Gaiman, whose job is to provide great ideas, storyline and characters for Sandman, 朱德庸 thought of the story and drew them himself.

His characters are all hand drawn and coloured, which sort of made me admire his talent even more.

And at the start of every new chapter, he would draw and write short sentences which really inspired me.

I envy people with such talent. His writing is almost as good as his artwork.

Let's just take a simple tree from a corner of one of the pages:
If I can draw anything that bears a slight resemblence to this, I will die happy.
