Been living like it's a holiday this week, school only begins every Wednesday so whenever Friday comes I feel like its a Saturday, in fact everyday feels like a Saturday, my favourite day of the week.
No more Monday blues ala Garfield, even though tutorials shall start next week =( time to dig out my EQ and start socialising.
Which reminds me I need to make a few lists to remind myself:
Things I've spent on since the start of Uni:
1) Reason and Persuasion - Prof John Holbo (Philosophy)
2) Sociology. 3rd Edition - Brym, R.J. and Lie, J. (Sociology)
3) Sociology Course Pack (Sociology)
4) 1 yr subscription to National Geographic (Leisure)
5) Fujitsu Lifebook S6410 (YES!)
Things I need to buy:
1) 徐杰、王惠编著《现代华语概论》 (I seriously think this is a waste of money)
2) 骆玉明 《简明中国文学史》 (My lecturer needs to order it from China)
3) A new backpack (not to go trekking, to tahan my socio books)
4) Non-slippery new shoes (Mine is a goner during rainy days)
What I think of my modules:
1) Sociology - Lecturer is Mr Nathan (NYJC, not the president) style 老好人, funny and seems nice enough, though I won't describe the contents of the lectures as particularly exciting.
2) Philosophy - Ang Moh lecturer, very humourous and very entertaining, too bad not handsome. Socrates will be such an irritating guy if he happens to be my enemy.
3) Intro to Chinese Studies - A less funny version of 潘潘, 'nuff said. Anyway the lecturer claims the standard of ur chinese doesnt matter so much with regard to grades, when the notes will all be in 繁体, thank god I read so much trashy 武侠小说 and Hongkong serial drama.
4) Intro to Chinese Language - The lecturer is from china and he's a real funny guy, too bad the content of the lessons makes me bored.
5) History of Chinese Literature - Lecturer from Hongkong I presume, and I always like HK stuff, so he's quite ok and humourous at times. Contents and reading makes me giddy, to compete with yr 2s is so not encouraging. Too dry for my liking, but he actually talks about 曹刿论战 and 邹忌讽齐王纳谏 which is always good. Reminds me of happier days in NY.
