Random thoughts...

When you're in the queue to pay your library book reservation fees, and getting increasing irritated by people who don't know how to operate the machine, and seeing them asking for help from staff who are totally unhelpful, I guess you just can't help but think of something you read somewhere, about how the author hoped that there are other beings in outerspace because he can't believe human beings are the best God can come up with, and that in your mind you believe some people are really not fit to waste earth's resources.

Coincidentally, when it was finally my turn, I realise all 4 books I've reserved have magically been processed and waiting for collection (only 2 when I checked in the afternoon). I wasn't sure whether I should laugh or cry. Even though I'm quite sure I'll finish them very soon, I know deep in my mind that I'll go crazy over the extra slots in reservation and reserve more books, which will be processed with a deadline for me to collect them, which sort of pushes me to return the books I've borrowed even earlier, and hence I've been thrown down the proverbial vicious cycle by my very own hands.

You borrowed And Then There Were None! Very enjoyable book, quite disturbing as well. I may re-read it some day. ^^
